Ointments & Creams

Several medicines used for skin treatment come in the form Ointments & Creams such as corticosteroids and antibiotics. Creams is made by mixing half percentage of water and half of oil, due to which they spread well, easily absorbed and can be clean with water. Whereas, ointments are mixture of 80% oil and 20% water, because of this they are greasy and stay on the skin surface. The oil mixed in the ointments is made up of mineral oil or petroleum jelly.
